In the quiet richness of late summer, when seed heads glow against deepening skies, three goldfinches gather among wild thistles. One keeps gentle watch from a tall stem, one feeds with bright focus, one lingers near the ground where seeds drift on the breeze. Goldfinches are long celebrated as symbols of lightness and joy, bringing a reminder to stay hopeful even as the seasons turn. Thistles speak of resilience and the power to protect what is tender while still blooming with grace. Together they form a scene of quiet strength and freedom, a prayer to hold light within while the world changes around you.
Created with intention, layered with spirit Each Eldara artwork begins as a slow and mindful ritual. The background is formed through hand pulled Gelli plate layers, built gradually with colour and texture. Seed heads, grasses and wildflowers from our Worcestershire garden and fields are pressed into the plate to leave delicate, organic imprints that honour the quiet magic of the land. Over this textured ground the goldfinches and thistles are rendered from my original black fine pen drawing, where careful stipple and crosshatch bring feather softness, seed down and the intricate spines of the thistle to life. The illustration merges with the layered background to become one soulful whole.
The final piece is gently refined to preserve every pulled edge, ink mark and subtle colour shift. It is printed on 300gsm cold pressed acid free textured watercolour paper chosen for its timeless strength and tactile beauty. Each print bears the distinctive pulled border edge where the paper lifted from the plate, a mark of its making. Hand embossed with the Eldara mark, signed and dated, each one is released in small limited editions to honour the sacred pace of intentional creation.

Packaging Each print is enclosed in a compostable Nativia bio film sleeve with a recycled grey kraft backing board, kind to the Earth and safe for your art. To keep it beautiful, display it out of direct sunlight and frame it behind glass. Each one is made to last, not only to be seen but to be felt.
