At the edge of dawn, when the first light touches the wild meadow, three goldfinches gather among thistles. One watches from a high stem, one feeds quietly, one rests close to the earth. Goldfinches have long been seen as gentle bearers of joy and the promise of brighter days. Thistles, with their guarded beauty and hidden softness, speak of endurance and the strength to flourish despite challenge. Together they become a quiet blessing, a moment of hope and freedom carried on delicate wings.
Created with intention, layered with spirit Every Eldara piece begins as a slow and meditative ritual. The background is built through hand pulled Gelli plate layers, each one an echo of the natural world. Seed heads, grasses and wildflowers gathered from our Worcestershire garden and nearby fields are pressed into the plate, leaving intricate organic imprints that honour the land’s quiet magic. Over this living ground the goldfinches and thistles are drawn in black fine pen, careful detailed line work built with stipple and crosshatch to hold their feather lightness and the thistle’s spiny grace. The illustration merges with the textured background to become a single soulful whole.
The finished artwork is gently refined so every pulled edge, ink mark and subtle colour shift remains alive. It is printed on 300gsm cold pressed acid free textured watercolour paper chosen for its timeless strength and beautiful tactile surface. Each print carries the distinctive pulled border edge where the paper lifted from the plate, a trace of its making. Hand embossed with the Eldara mark, signed and dated, each piece is released in small limited editions to honour the sacred pace of intentional creation.

Packaging Each print is enclosed in a compostable Nativia bio film sleeve with a recycled grey kraft backing board, kind to the Earth and safe for your art. To keep it beautiful, display it out of direct sunlight and frame it behind glass. Each one is made to last, not only to be seen but to be felt.
