Amaya

She came in stillness, a quiet presence that revealed itself gently. Her form felt both familiar and unknown, as though something ancient had stepped forward, not to be explained, but to be felt.

There is a softness in her presence, yet a quiet strength beneath it. Her gaze meets you steadily, without judgement, holding a calm that allows the body to begin to release. The hands rest close, not in performance, but in a gesture of gentle containment, as if gathering and softening what has been held for too long.

Amaya reflects the essence of the sacred feminine found across many Eastern traditions, where beauty and stillness exist together, and where strength is expressed through presence rather than force. She is not defined by one form or name, but carries a universal sense of calm, awareness and quiet support.

This piece speaks to the experience of returning to the body. The moment the breath deepens, the shoulders drop, and tension begins to ease. There is protection here in the feeling of being held in awareness. There is healing in the gradual softening. There is guidance in the stillness that gently opens.

The steady gaze is calm and grounding, a reminder that nothing is required in this moment. The gesture of the hands draws the focus inward, encouraging a pause, a breath, a return to yourself. There is no urgency in her presence, only space.

This artwork carries a soft, steadying energy. It invites stillness, awareness and a deeper connection to the body. Many are drawn to this piece during times of grief, overwhelm or transition, when a sense of calm, protection and gentle guidance is needed.

Inspired by a presence encountered in meditation, Amaya is offered as a reflection of that experience. Not something to define or follow, but something to feel, in your own way, in your own time. Each Eldara print is created through a sacred, intuitive process in our Worcestershire studio with devotion, presence and care. The foundation begins with a richly textured Gelli plate background, formed through slow meditative layering. Botanical forms, leaves and organic elements are pressed and transferred to capture the natural flow of growth and movement. Watercolour washes and intuitive mark-making bring depth and softness before the final pen and ink drawing is carefully layered and refined.

Printed on 300gsm cold pressed acid free watercolour paper, each piece carries a pulled border edge, is hand embossed with the Eldara mark, signed and dated, and released in small heartfelt editions.

The archival inks and fine art watercolour paper are of gallery quality but not waterproof. Keep your print dry and protect it behind glass to preserve its texture and depth of colour.
